This is Rael, she is a 2 year old girl who was born to a 13 year old girl in a village outside Kissii. Her mother was not allowed to breastfeed this child and was immediately sent back to school after the child’s birth.
The photo shows she has talipes (clubfoot) of her right foot. Fortunately this is a small problem that can be corrected with either surgery or physio and splints. Sadly our team thinks that Rael’s main problem is that she has been starved for food, attention and love.
We now have approval from the court for Rael to be moved to a small orphanage in Nakuru were she will get good food, physio and any other intervention as needed and lots of love.
