Nemo comes from an orphanage in Mombasa. She has a twin brother who was thriving, but Nemo was losing weight rapidly and was looking like she may not survive. Kenya Health heard about this case and asked that Nemo be bought to Nairobi and cared for at Gertrudes hospital.
Nemo was admitted to Gertrudes weighing just 3.9kg at 9 months of age and with large areas of eczema over body. Nemo had many tests and was found to be allergic to both wheat and milk. The appropriate changes were made to her diet and Nemo is now doing very well.
