Zacheus

This is Zacheus, he is nearly 4 years old and weighs just over 7kg. Zacheus has been deserted by his parents and has been looked after by a neighbour but his care left a lot to be desired. In his short life he has had tuberculosis and suffers from sickle cell anaemia. Kenya Health took Zacheus to the local hospital for review where he had chest x-rays and other tests. The x-rays showed his tuberculosis was cured but he did have pneumonia which we treated. Zacheus is now living with the wonderful Lillian AKA Mrs Pastor. He is getting lots of loving care and good food and he is thriving. Our main concern is his lifelong treatment for his sickle cell anaemia as his preventive care has come at a great cost but we are hoping that little Zac now has a decent future.
